Help, Idiot lights all over...

My father is nice enough to leave town every year during the best convertible weather, so I have his car this week ('97 SL500 w/ 53K miles). He commented to me before he left that the ABS light was coming on sporadically in his car. I've been driving it for 3 days and it never came on until today...but both the ESP and ABS light and stayed on for the last two times I've driven the car. Also, what I noticed on Saturday was the brake pad indicator light is coming on sometimes and it appears the rear pads need to replaced, which I hope to have done tommorrow (wednesday). I'm guessing the ESP and ABS lights might be a bad wheel sensor since they both seem to operate together??? Is this a common problem with these cars???

Wink ABS/ASR lights

i did get these lights om my car,
and aalso it was from the Battery....
u need to check the battery, the ABS and ASR are both in one unit, and takes a lot of the battery power to function..

but if the battery is week, they will shut off, to keep the car running...

regards...

Battery

The battery is original and tests bad. I think $180 is unreasonable for a Mercedes (Varta???) battery. So I'll get him an Interstate or Die Hard Gold this weekend if I can find the correct one...Am I making a mistake by going aftermarket here???

Go Diehard Gold. It is the only aftermarket battery I have used and they are excellent
