Most Outragous Part Cost EVER!!! Suggestions?

I recently discovered that I am one of the lucky owners of a 2001 Formula 1 Edition R129. I had no idea when I made the purchase.

They only made 20. Only 9 imported to the USA.

In the interior, there is a lot of silver plastic (or painted carbon fiber?) trim where the wood trim usually is. See picture.

Well, some of the plastic is cracking. I inquired with the stealership as to the piece that surrounds the arm rest. See picture.

The cost: $2,100. For a regular one, it is under $200.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible that a body shop or interior shop could paint the standard trim piece to match? Would it look good?

I was quoted $2,000 to replace the ASR unit. It turned out that I had got water in it. So I allowed it to dry out. Actual cost = $0

Most good body shops should be able to do this, if you were in NY I could recommend a few. Find whoever is good in your area, stop by and ask, it cant hurt.
