engine stumble once hot at idle
My 97 SL500 stumbles at idle, like a miss but not as intense or defianable. When it happens the oil pressure drops dangerously low, the car almost stalls, but wont completely cut out. Durning normal driving and acceleration, the car still runs flawlessly. The check engine light just came on today, the last time it did it gave me a misfire code on cylinder 1, but has yet to reproduce the same code. Anyone else have this happen, what was your fix?
I have seached the forum and see it explained as mass air sensor, o2 sensor, and some control module I havenever heard of, maybe someone can help. The spark plugs in the car are new, btw.
On a lighter note, I installed the KMAC front camber/caster kit, works liek a dream and I would highly reccomend it.

Im curious, what makes you so sure its the injectors? Considering its heat related, i was more under the impression that it was some sort of control module, I'm not disagreeing with you, im just confused. Eric

1991 300sl 5 speed manual
EGR VALVE $400
Cleaned Plenum, new spark plugs, Etc
Spark plug wires, Cap, Rotor,
Finally new fuel injectors. The car ran great when cold because the cold start injectors were spraying more fuel. When the car warmed up the plugged injectors work spraying a stream of fuel instead of a mist causing the 2 of the cylinders to not even run until 3000 rpms.
Now I still have problems getting the car to go past 5500 rpms. I am cutting the Exhaust Resonator off next week.
The only other things I can think of is the Fuel acumulator or the some other fuel related thing. It can also be a Bad Exhaust sensor.(forgot what you call it). JJ
