Iridium Plugs in the 5.0L engine

Has anyone had less than satisfactory performance from running iridium plugs in the 5.0 liter V8? I am going to try the NGK BKR5EIX plug. At 4.63 each from my warehouse, it is no more than a 4301 Bosch Platinum 2. They ran well in my supercharged Thunderbird, but it's hardly an equal comparison.

You should not use a resistance plug in a Mercedes. Mercedes builds resistance into the plug wires, therefore the use of a resistance plug would have an adverse affect. Use stock plugs.
