Power Adders
Does anyone have any experience with power adders ( i.e. NOS, Superchargers, Turbochargers etc.) on the M119 engine? I am curious about engine reliability at increased power outputs.

The M119 is a very durable motor that handle much punishment. With nitrous, there are two types: wet shot and dry shot.
Wet Shot - Mixture of nitrous and fuel.
Dry Shot - Pure nitrous oxide.
I believe a wet shot is safer to run. As long as you use it in moderate amounts (50-75 shot instead of 150 shot lol) it should be fine.

I dont care what kind of engine it is, power adders such as NO2 and blowers (turbo's or superchargers)cut engine life substantially, unless it is specifically prepped for it or you use a very limited amount of the power adders potential.
I have done serious modifications to several cars and motorcycles, its a race involving lots of money and time. Modify anything requires a plan, what are you looking to do with the car, drag strip only, daily driver, autocross, cannon ball run
, what's your budget.....the list goes on and on.
If you really want to modify an engine to run power adders, you need to start from the bottom up and build the motor for it, forged internals, specific pistons for compression ratio, NO2 likes certian types of valves and rings better than others, etc......then pray your drivetrain holds together.

I have read numerous positive experiences with nitrous and daily drivers...all examples were moderate dosages of it. As long as you don't go overboard with a stock motor, reliability will not be compromised. If an LT1 can handle years and thousands of miles with conservative amounts of nitrous and not even hiccup, an M119 shouldn't have a problem.

I would consider getting one some day. Maybe with my Christmass bonus money this year. Or next.
