New owner 1999 SL500
I just bought a great car but I have to deal with two items. I have to install a CD changer and I have to set up the gear to remove and store the hardtop. Can anyone give me some help, especially as to how to install the CD player. I see them on line at $200, not the $800 the dealer quoted me. I live in Southern New Jersey, near Philadelphia.

and welcome to the site 
As far as the install I would check with a reputable independent stereo shop in the area. If you are planning on doing this yourself call Crutchfield and order your radio from them. They are more than helpful when installing the radio and suppling parts and literature.

I just purchased a new burl wood shifter with shaft. How do I get the old one out? Can it be done without taking the car apart. I mean just removing the shifter boot?
Please help.
