Hiccups on tickover - 98 SL500 83000m

Help Please! My otherwise faultless car has started to miss the occasional beat when on tickover. Stop in traffic and 10 seconds later the engine will miss a beat and then continue unfazed. This may occur every 60 seconds or so, and when we get moving the engine is fine. Slightly worrying though! Any ideas?
Thanks in anticipation.

Sorry! Common people divided by a common language! 'On tickover' means at idle speed 650 rpm!
Thanks

I had a loose vacuum fitting that was causing the same issue; however, my car logged a fault code...

The hiccup - is this when you're slowing to a stop and at the last moment the engine revs a bit? I have this happen once every few months, been trying to track it down.
