HELP! SL500 Accelerator pedal cable IN-OP
********* INTERMITTTIMGLY*********my SL 500 1994 does not won't to go when I press the gas pedal. But if you press past halfway the car will go. I took it to the dealer and this is word for word what he wrote on the paper.
Performed a code test and code 006 Control Module N4/1 and
051 CTP Idle Switch was present, may be caused by the Idler Switch but cannot be sure since 006 Control Module N4/1 is present.
Advisor said its an electronic accelarator and the cable is a back-up.
But on my other SL I had what I thought was the same problem and I replaced the cable and that fixed it
Where can I find this Idler Switch? Stealership wanted my first born( who BTW skipped school today so I was almost ready to give him up LOL)
