repairing a grill -- doable?
I bought a replacement grille for the silver arrow; alas, it's not brightmetal but "black" chrome and gives the car a different (and non-original to those who know the silver arrow from other sl's) appearance.
i'm not a **** for appearance sake or anything, and could easily take this grille out to rechrome bright if i actually cared, but that'll be for another lifetime or owner.
meanwhile, i have this OEM grille that i removed, which has 2 blades with pretty nice bends in them, looking like someone threw a hardball at the top left corner of the grille and bent them (i ran into the corner of a piece of couch in my garage, like a dummy).
anyone know whether the blades on these things can be straightened out? my guess is that the grille is tin or some other ****e-metal that won't bend back to original form without running it through the equipment in sindelfingen, but that's why i throw the question open to you guys.
if there's no hope without rude expenditure, i will toss out the old grille without regret. thanks for your responses!
