Antenna

Need an opinion here. I broke my SL antenna and am currently looking for one. Does anyone think the $20 ones on Ebay from Hong Kong will be an ok replacement.

My experience is that an antennae mast is an antennae mast...

I think you can get one almost as cheap locally without the shipping costs and lenghty delay...not from the dealer, but you might look around at places like performance parts, etc...

The $20 made in China ones on Ebay last about a month. The plastic is so crappy on the drive cord that all the teeth wear down, and then it won't retract/extent anymore.

Save your $20, trust me from experience. As to OEM parts, try autohausaz.com or parts.com. They are both much cheaper than the dealer.

Sorry to hear that...I hope I didn't steer you in the wrong direction. As mentioned, I've never had any issues with the teeth wearing out on any mast I have purchased, regardless of price or source.
