Hi guys,

Any idea what the problem could be for my 500sl. It constantly idles high (cold and hot). I've changed the plugs, wires and distributor cap without any luck. Any ideas?

Also, even if this signifies a problem of some other sort, is there a screw to adjust like on some Asian cars or is it much more difficult to do?

Mine idles hi at warmup then "kicks down" after temps are up or the car is being put in gear. Could be any number of things, MAF sensor, etc...Not like the good old days when you could tweek the idle adujsutment screw on a carb...I't get to a profiicent mechanic...

Had the same problem, and replaced the Engine Control Unit, and all ok...

Holy hell, what did that cost you?

It was in 2001, its called the EK Control Unit, it cost something like 2500 USD.
im sure now it will cost more these days...
