need manual for 1999 sl500
I have a great sl500 and want to know where I can purchase a complete manual for it. Not a new car manual, which I have, but a complete manual showing every bolt in the the car. Thanks for your help.

Congratulations on your new to you car!
There are no paper based manuals, other than the Owners Manual, that I'm aware of that will give you what you're asking for. I believe your 3 choices are-
www.AllDataDIY.com , a subscription service at $24.95/yr specifically for your car/model/year. You can check out the service for free at most public libraries in the US.
MB produced DVD available from MBUSA (www.mbusa.com),
P/N P-2700-129-07, Service Manual Library, for around $88. The disk contains:
o Diagnostic Information and Function Descriptions, Maintenance and Repair Info;
o Wiring Diagrams with component locations
o Service Bulletins and DTB
o Owners and Introduction Manuals
Your final choice is ebay to pickup a bootleg copy of WIS-ASRA CD's that are available for under $10. These, if you can get them to run, are quite good, detailed, good illustrations, etc., but a bear to run on most PC's. Caveat Emptor-

your best bet will not be a service manual (or equiv online service) but a
parts diagram manual/service. in the old days this might be in the form of
something called "parts microfiche" but with MB now, it's either StarTekInfo
and the Russian parts diagram site
MB is free use for North American subscribers. Russian site should be free
worldwide.

This is the link to the free parts catalog: https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/subscribe.jsp. For technical documentation on repairs and troubleshooting I second what Mr. Jones wrote.
