Roof fault - Car thinks roof is open when i drive
Hi All
I have a 1996 SL320.
The roof closes and opens ok, however, at the final stage of closing the roof (where the windows close themslves), the windows close 3/4 of the way and then roll back down. Windows then have to be raised using the window switches.
When i drive off the red light flashes and the car chimes five times and then stops. However, the red light flashes constantly. The roof is however closed fully. When the roof is fully open the roof button does not flash.
Can anyone give me some tips on how i could resolve this problem. The mechanics MB diganostics shows there is no fault.
Perhaps useful to know is that about three years ago the control unit blew and i had to have it replaced. After it was replaced the roof worked however this fault was present ever since.
Any help would be appreciated.
