sl500 ads

I have a few questions I am working on a 94 sl500 that the ads system won't raise up. First off the system went dry because of a leaking distribution vavle i have replaced everything mechanical on it with the exception of the shock's. I have tried everything that has been mentioned on here. The light is still on thats is on the instument cluster. Any suggestions what to try next.

You need to bleed the system to re-prime the pump.

Remove the high pressure line from the pump to the manifold/valve block and run the engine until clear fluid comes out, a willing helper to keep filling the reservoir is handy at this point.

Reconnect the line to the manifold and then undo the bleed screw on the manifold a turn or two. Once the car starts to rise, use the compensators on the front and rear axles to rise and lower the car a couple of times and then tighten up the bleed screw.

You need a code reader to find out what why the ADS MIL is active, even if you clear the problem, the code needs to be reset manually, otherwise ADS will stay in the default hard ride condition.

Good Luck,

Richard
