R129 Centre Trim Console Replacement

I'm looking to replace my centre wood trimmed console (and other wood trim), partly because it's looking a little tired, and partly to modernise it somewhat.

The only company I have found that do a replacment in other than wood is this japanese one http://www.robson-des********/english/mercedes.htm. I think a carbon dash would look the part.

Anyone done this before? How difficult is it to replace? Any other source for these parts?

Why not get your existing stuff re-faced? The burl or whatever you have is like only a few mms thick. Its way cheaper to have it redone that buy new.

I've refaced some of the pieces on my 500E...new pieces would have been over a grand and I think I spent $300 for new burlwood veneers.

Looking at the options open. I agree resurfacing is perhaps the only option, have to supply the parts to fabricator with three week turnaround. It's an option. About £400, which in the scheme of things isn't bad.
