Rear brake lights (strip) out. Now headlights are acting up??
The light came on that told me my brake lights were out. I found the entire strip to be out. Is this a common issue? Fix? Now the headlights are acting funning, IE low beams not working but high beams do, then low working but only on one side.
I'm thinking that perhaps there is an electrical issue I need to fix. Do you guys have any advise on where I should start looking?

TTT- Left tail light needed to be tapped. Then the dummy light went out. But I still have no brake light strip and the passenger side headlight is out on high beam. Looking for help.

About the strip brake lights. They do not show up on the idiot lights.
With this situation, the problem usually is a broken wire where the wires go along the right side of the hinge in the trunk. Take off the plastic and trace the wires where they fold when the trunk is closed. Then splice a small piece to the broken wire.
With the headlight. Perhaps a new bulb, if the idiot light comes on when the high beam is activated.
When you post, put in the year of the car and make.

3rd Brake Light . . . "not working"
300SL 3rd Brake Light . . . "not working"
I had the same problem . . . on my car. I tried tracing the wire to no success. I tested with a VOM and was getting 12v power when the brake pedal was applied. The ground wire must be broken somewhere along the line. I just spliced the (-) side of the light and grounded it to the trunk lid latch bolt. It's been working for years now. Headlight problem . . . check the fuses in the trunk and clean the contacts (on all fuses). Corrosion may be the culprit.
Hope this helps.
