Test drive?

I drove a 92 SL 500 had 96K on the clock. when i started it up it was a bit lumpy as it started from cold but then once it got goin it seemed fine. i was just wondering if that was a normal i know with my 94 E class its a bit lumpy but wasnt sure if the sl was the same.

also when i put my foot down the kick down kicked in at quite high revs which i didnt mind cause it shot forward but is this normal.

if there is any other things i should look out for then please let me know but the car does come with 2 years free warranty an interim service so it seems good.

cheers

well, it doesnt get too cold here in socal, but my 94 has never had any cold starting problems, it just holds the revs up for a whille.

I think I read somewhere that this action is to warm the transmission up. For mine, it doesn't matter what out side temperature (as long as the car wasn't driven within a few hours earlier), the car will idle at around 900-1k rpm and then lower to 600rpm. The time it takes to lower does depend on the out side temperature though.

It seems like my mother's '93 sl500 is a bit "lumpier" compared to her '98 sl500.

Just my $.02,
Rick
