91 300SL Manual Transmission New car New Problems
I just found and helped my father purchase a Nautical Blue/blue top/blue leather 300SL with rare manual transmission. When the car arrived from Denver to Alabama the top was not working properly and more of an issue the car will not idle. You have to give the car gas when starting and keep the revs up or the engine will die. Makes driving the car with a clutch sort of tricky. Now once you drive for a bit the engine sorts itself out and will not die off. Someone said the altitude change can cause issues. It traveled on a truck and was loaded and unloaded several times on the trip down. Is there anyone with any suggestions about this problem?
The top worked once the battery was charged up all the way but starting the car has never been a problem. Also found the roll bar no longer worked with the switch. Is there anything we can try? The dealer has not been any help with suggestions.
Any help would be great.
Also as a side note he had a little ol'lady back into his pass. door the first week of ownership. Not so sure he has recovered yet.
