Are these real?

Hey all,

Do you suppose these are real (OEM factory built true AMG wheels)? here's the link:

Ask for the pictures from the back with ET and part number. MB did make those rims (18x8.5 front and 18x10 rear) standard on 2001 and 2002 SL600. Not many of those were produced though. They cost over $4K (set) originally.

Wow well at the price they are charging for these I'm guessing they are fake... part num's or not... But I'll send them an email and see if they respond. Thanks!! What year is your CL55? how do you like it compared to the SL500?

The SL is 99' and the CL is 05'. CL is pretty much better than the SL in just about any categories (well it's 6 years younger and has over 200 HPs more*). The SL wins in top down and cornering contests though. You also need to have a DEEP pocket going for the CL. They are very EXPENSIVE to maintain.

* SL500 has 329 HPs, CL55 has 537 HPs (both updated with Powerchips) - well these numbers are on paper, I am not sure what the real ones are LOL

According to this description they are not fake, but they are refinished/rebuilt, except for "OER" (original equipment replica).

Very, very interesting... I'll have to look into the CL's a bit more. Do you ever take two or three passengers in your CL? If you do, how's the back seat legroom? Well besides the expensive parts I would do most of the work myself. I've worked on lots of BMW M3's and the older Benz's don't seem too bad to work on, although I should add that I haven't changed my blower motor that is going out. The performance spec's you listed are quite impressive to say the least... Gives me something to look into. Thanks!

Thanks for finding that!! Now when they say "rebuilt" does that mean rebuilt off of a totaled car and now the wheel will give me some stupid vibration at anything above 60? Maybe I'll go ahead and buy a set and see what happens...

I've never have more than one passenger in my CL (I had 2 passengers on my SL on two occasions though lol) although I sat on the back seat one. It wasn't as comfy as my Lexus LS430 (stating the obvious since the LS430 is the full size sedan!). I don't think the back seats of the CL would be good for long distance driving.

The OEM HPs for the CL55 was only 493. 537 was only after I spent over $1400! Even if you do all the work yourself, I'd suggest you put away at least $250 a month for the maintenance/issue.
