Guys,

The convertible top (upholstry only) needs to be repalced on my 2001 SL500. Anybody have any recommendations for a company in the north east (ideally in CT)?

What part of it needs replacing?? Did a stich pop or was it cut?
There are all of options if a stich poped than it can be fixed if it was cut than youll need a new one.

I know a real good upholstry shop top notch work? I have replaced numerous tops at my dealer very difficult job must be done by a qualified person.

Awesome. The top is in pretty good shape, its just that the stiching popped around a portion of the rear window. If just that can be repaired, that would be great. I live in Fairfield County, CT and would be willing to travel a fair distance to get it fixed. Thanks again!

Thanks for the help. I visited a couple of shops and spoke to a couple of others over the past few days, thanks to the help of you guys and it turns out that the top needs to be replaced and can't be repaired. The good news though is that I found a place in Fairfield County that was surprisingly inexpensive compared to other shops in the area. I was concerned right up until I learned that the local Mercedes Dealership in town outsources all of their leather, fabric and convertible top repairs and replacements to them.
