SL/R129: leak

What? Are you trying to say the "a pillers" have a leak? And by the way an SL500 is not an AMG car. Merely an AMG bodykit, wheels, and maybe exhaust but no engine mods. If it was, it would be called an SL50 (which to my knowledge they never made).

It's hard to get information about AMGs prior to MB's acquisition. I've heard other people have contacted the AMG division directly and they can research available records to see if in fact the car is authentic AMG. Back in the day of your car, it would have been bought by AMG and torn down and rebuilt to the customers specifications.
There is an adjustment for the front locks but it is on the hardtop. There is a procedure for it in the star service manual. I'm not sure if the soft top is adjustable in the same way but I suspect it is. I have never heard of anyone needing to adjust it though. I would first make sure that the drainage gutters are working properly and are not stopped up. I would also make sure there is no physical defect in the seal itself.
One thought, are you getting leaking when the hard top is on or the soft top? There was a seal change at some point around '95 I think. If you have a later model hardtop you might have this problem.
