Audio Help! 96 SL 500
Hey Guys,
When the engine is off but the electronics are on, the stereo works fine. As soon as the engine is turned on, the music volume decreases and then I get nothing but static and crackle. Is this an amp or some type of connection problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

turns out, if the the radio is on and the engine is off, the radio after about 2 min of plat time decreases in sounds and the crackle and static come back. also, the right front passenger speaker just outputs static. im at a loss of how to tackle this problem

In some BMWs, I had heard of radio issues being related to a bad or worn out car battery.
The '96 models luckily do not have the fiber optic system, so if the battery is not the culprit it could be the amplifier. I suppose checking the battery might be the easiest test and then checking the amp/radio connections might be next if the battery isn't the reason.

Hi Guys
I have a 1995 sl320 the left front speaker does not work the speaker was tested out of the car, and it worked fine. The amplifier was also tested and there is nothing wrong with it, Can anyone think of anything else? When fade is turned to left, nothing, when turned to the right, right front speaker and both rear ones come on fine.
