SL/R129: ASR light on when starting engine.
#1
ASR light on when starting engine.
Hi, all I am new here.
I recently bought a 1990 500SL, and I now have a problem with the ASR
I have read through the forum threads around ASR problems without finding any similar problems.
I hope anyone in here can help me, The problem is:
After starting the engine, the ASR light turns on after a few seconds.
The accleratorpedal is hard to operate, and it seams like the power from the engine is reduced.
There have been a couple of incidence while the light dos not turn on, and I have drived the car for 20 - 30 minutes before the light turns on.
I have changed the acclerator module (0005401417) without any luck.
I have also changed the overload relay.
After some investigation, I discovered that contignusly movement of the throttle actuator keeps the light off. If I start the engine and just pump the pedal slightly and more than 2-3 times each second, the light will be off. If I hold the pedal a bit in and keep the rpm of the engine over aprox 2000 rpm, the light is still off. It seams like a contigusely signal from my peadal keep the light away. Smooth movement of the pedal, without changing the engine rpm, also keep the light off.
Please, Any help here will be highly appreciated
Best regards
