Recently purchased a 1991 SL500 got couple questions

Hi guys, I just recently got 1991 Mercedes Benz SL500 with 91k miles. I have couple issues that I want if you can help me out on;

1: Whats a good website to order OEM parts for these cars?

2: My seat belt light is ON even if both seat belts are inserted? (Coule be a bad seat belt buckle?)

3. I got the hardtop with car, the issue I have is when its on the car and I try to take it off electronically it doesn't come off. I have to use the tool in order to take off the top BUT when you put the hardtop back on the car, it electronically sucks it in and locks. Also the convertable works great.

4. I just drove the car tonight and the ASR light came on. What can I check to sove this issue?

5. Also the radio does NOT work, the screen shows the radio station but no sound? (maybe a fuse)

6. Also one of the intake pipes has tear in it, cheap plastic I guess or old. I am not sure if that has any effect on my issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ASR can be lots of things - I have a 1991 SL 500 but everything was working and it was in sparkling showroom condition from being garaged since 1991.

The old Becker radios do go - after market is probably alot cheaper than R/R the original Becker radio . I have a Clarion Z500 that previous owner had installed with bluetooth/MP3 etc.

Any issues with the hydraulic top cylinders can cost $3,000 to R/R cylinders.
Search this forum and benzworld. You will find many try to cut corners by rebuilding their cylinders for $50.00 (instead of $300 - $800 ea for some of the cylinders) but my 20 year indy MB mechanic says you are just prolonging the inevitable.

These cars have many highly intricate and expensive systems such as:

Vacuum system for locking (pump by fuel door)
Hydraulic cylinders/computer for top
electical systems
Exhaust vacuum system

My ABS light comes on about once a week - the only gremlin I have - for apparently no reason while drivinbg 45 mph down country roads. I notice when it comes on the brakes self-apply as it is trying to stop me while I'm trying to go. Could even be battery voltage related or sensor related.

There are several good sites for OE and OEM replacement parts, among them are...

www.autohausaz.com

www.parts.com

Hey guys just wanted to share what has been resolved and what has not;

1: Hardtop - I finally checked the fluid level it was getting close to the low level, so I went to dealer got the fluid and filled her up. Now it unlatched perfectly.

2. Intake Hose - Went to the dealer bought a new piece which looks like a different design in a better way, intall was easy and works great.

3. Radio - It just started to work normally after I posted, BUT it was an issue only the left side speakers work. I am hoping its a fuse but it could be wiring. Any suggestions on what to check would be appreciated.

5. ASR light - Its still on but its NOT having any effect on the power of the car. I actaully read somebody replacing the battery in which cured his ASR due to better volt current.

6. SEAT BELT light - Its still on, I have not really checked anything on this yet, I am hoping its a fuse but it could be a seat buckle which are NOT cheap.

I am taking the car to my electric wizard tomorrow, hopefully he can resolve couple of the issues.

How did you know that this problem was the intake hose? what were the symptoms? by any chance was it like a hissing sound that sounds similar to a tire losing air?

Thanks
