SL/R129: R 129 with problems

R 129 with problems
Hello I am new here, I did not have a MB for some time ,and decided to buy a R 129 as a sommer car. It is a 97 SL 320, 96000km and is still at the dealer ( Kia dealer trade in)to get it certified, and here is the problem. When I did a test drive there was a strong vibration in the front, and I made the deal depend, on fixing this problem. What I know so far is, there was a crack in the front rim that can not be fixed, the rims are 19 x8 ET 30 with 235/35-245/35 on it.the can not find a rim (don't know the make) the stamp is 04 M5819 8Jx19 H2 ET30 A 690kg C. There is a upgrade brake kit installed( red caliper Brembo?) the did try a smaler rim set,the original 16th, it hit the caliper. Today the e-mailed the dimensions of the rims as stated above, I had asked about all sizes, and here it becomes strange.
rotor 12" = 305mm disk by 29mm?
caliper overhang 2,3/4"= 70mm?
and back space of the rim 6 7/8" ?
wheel center to the top of caliper 9 1/2 " = 242mm
something is not right with a ET of 30 an the back space as I understand. What about those numbers? If I need a new set of rims , how can I be certain the fit ? I would have to buy long distance e-bay or so. I would like to have the car it's otherwise in good shape, and the dealer is willing to pay for the new rims, but is frustrated since he is unable to get parts.Would appreciate some imput. Regards MJ

Go to this thread at Benworld.org - http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...sizes-ets.html . It gives all the wheel sizes and offsets that work on an R-129 and mods necessary for some.

Thank you for the reply, I had a look at those charts before, what I am not certain of are those measurements at the front axle, if the are stock or aftermarket. Has some one shop drawings to confirm them? MJ
