SL/R129: Will not start

Will not start
My 1995 320SL will not start. The battery is fine. The radioand dash lights all come on when I turn the key but nothing else happens. This has happened before but after a few minutes of turning the key off and on it will start. What could be the problem? There is also a beeping sound when the key is turned to the start position.

Sounds like the same prob. I had with my 95 320. The problem was ultimately found to be a module in the anti theft system, it took 16 hours to find it, in the end we bypassed the anti theft and it worked fine. The module can be replaced but it will cost you more. Hope this helps.

does the motor turn over when you hit the key or does it do nothing at all i wonder? two things come to mind if the motor spins over and over, the pickup for the ingnitor or the ingitor itself. Both cause the same thing your explaining.
