idle surge
car has been parked for the winter and now when i start it it surges from 1000 rpm to almost stalling. replaced both side rail tubing so i dont have a vacuum issue.a guy mentioned it might be the idle control solenoid?also when i went on my first road test at half peddle the car ran fine, but at WOT it started missing and seemed like it was running on 6 cylinders. would this part part have this problem on both effects

Check the idler hose plastic connectors. These are the elbows and joiners that join the hoses to the injectors. If they havn't been changed the chances are the plastic is crumbling causing a leaner mixture. You will find if you tug on the hoses the joiner and elbows will most likely just break up. you can get a full set of hoses and connectors from AutohausAZ for less than $120

thanx poundy, already replaced all plastic lines and yes they where in bad shape, still surges and falls on its face at wot.any thoughts on that valve,if you take off the front plastic cover on the engine theres two valves, the one on the left is the accellerator and the right one with two wires and hoses coming off it is the idle control

If you pull the plug of the idle control valve while the car is running, you should get a noticable rev surge. If you don't I would most likely replace it.
My gut feeling is the problem sounds more like an ignition fault. I think I would make sure distributor Caps, rotors, plug and leads are all working correctly first.
