1990 500SL HELP

Hey guys I need some help. I was just looking around for cars and i stumbled upon this 1990 500SL, Red/Tan with about 39,000 miles the guy is asking $3350. The car looks immaculate in the pictures which are only of the exterior. Waiting for a reply to see the legitimacy of this but as its running through my head I have a few concerns apart from just the deal. Are these cars more trouble than what it's worth? What problems are typically associated with this year and model? I'm well aware of the costs of ownership associated with MB and just wondering what to expect. Here's a picture of the car that was in the ad.

It's funny, months later I see this same car in this ad:
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...&&aff=national

I have a feeling that it's a scam!
Do you recall his location? This one is supposed to be in Toms River NJ.

Yup it turned out to be a scam. The typical email came back saying he was in Texas (Or anyother state than what is specified in ad) with the car and was about to leave for a tour of duty in Iraq and the car is with him. He'll ship for free and all that all you have to do is send money and he'll send a fake ebay page that looks 100% real and you send money and that page and your cash is never to be seen again. Virtually untraceable. It happened to me last summer, found an 03 E500 for around 3,700 and of course i inquired because i didn't know about the scams and i almost sent money until a friend told me. Then he hacked my email and sent out viagra emails to everyone in my contacts. If it's too good to be true it probably is!!
