94 129 L Window
Hi, I'm having a problem with the left window and hard top not releasing.
I'm a retired dbl gear so at one time i had an idea, now not so much. Anyway, the left window is not working, popped the door panel and tested the motor powering the blk & green, it works. I put a test light on the two leads and find power going to both leads, no ground, Apply ground and window works. I have swapped switches and still same thing, L switch works fine on R door.
Controller clicks, top will lock but will not release with window down. Any thoughts???

Since you have not had a reply I thought I would at least restart your question. The window switch ( in the center console ) works but not on the left window? you accessed the motor in the door panel and could get the window to respond by bridging or grounding the motor?
The top removal ( with the hydraulic system) has several steps that need to occur before the latch will release that are listed in the owners manual. Do you have that protocol?
I have used the hex wrench in the tool kit to remove the hard top manually, just to see how it worked.
the more detail oriented members of the forum can give you a complete run down.
The fourth "sticky" on the list of posts has a wealth of info about most of the DIY projects possible on MB's
Good luck
