SL/R129: Wheel size

Just for intro, I have a 93 400e and have been a member on the 124 forum. Recently purchased a 91 500sl with 55,000 miles. I am planning on taking the tires and wheels from the sl and putting them on the 400e. Upagrading to 16" rims from 15". I would like to get 17" for the sl. Question is, what width and offset will fit the sl for 17"? Also recommmended tire size for each rim width would be helpful.

1999-2000 SL500 non-sport came with 17" wheels stock with the specs
17x8.25 ET34 245/45/17
You can go with any number close to that. If you go with stagger, the offset can be a bit more aggressive (for better look) and the rear tires can be 275/40/17

I, too, have a 93 400e, and I pulled the 17x7.5 35 offset AMGs off it (already aggressive) to put on the SL (not aggressive enough, needs 8.25 or speacers).
The stock 16x8s on the 400e make it look like a pontoon boat. Think 500e wheels without 500e fenders. I think 41 offset is stock on a 400e
