1996 MB SL500
No remote entry.
When I bought my 1996 SL500 it did not come with the remotes and I am unable to locate them.
Can anybody on the forum let me know what the number on the reomte shoud be?
Dealer wants about $400 to get e new one here in Canada but I am trying some easier (cheaper) avenue first.
Anybody please let me know, possibly order from a dealer in the US by
VIN ?????

Seems like a reasonable plan, but I'm unsure what the cost for the remotes are here.
Since you don't have the infrared remotes and really don't know the condition of the system, perhaps you might consider upgrading to aftermarket RF remotes. Cost is negligable from what I've read and operation is more dependable.
