questions..please answer

Hello, I have a suspended liscense right now, but when i get it back, i'm planning on getting a c32 amg. But i was wondering, how about a oldschool sl500? like a 1997-1999 model. How much is insurance for a normal person over 40 with a diesent record? how is it on gas? hows it ride? thanks ahead of time

Insurance is expensive because of the value of the car. I pay $1,400/year with a nearly perfect record and a 3 car discount, but I have WAY above the state minimums for coverage.

Gas mileage is 14-15 all around. Ride quality is OK; Not exactly a sports car, not exactly a luxury car. Interior noise is a bit high with the soft top (higher than one would expect for such a premium car), but definitely not "bad". Seating position is not very comfortable in my opinion. 1999+ has softer seats than previos models, or if you get an older one they car be re-padded for about $400/seat.

The driving experience of these cars is unmatched by anything, though. Lots of power and the car hardly has to work at all. Very smooth and effortless to drive. I would be a bit disappointed if I had pain the full $100K for mine when it was new, but for $30K-$50K used they are a good value.
