headrest lifter gear.
i need the large gear for headrest lifter in 1995 SL320. I don't want to pay the dearlership $300+ to buy the whole unit. I just want somebody to help me find a source to get the broken gear.

Like virtually everyone that's posted and been following this topic, my driver's side headrest went out a few weeks ago. Thanks to my creative Indy Tech, we sent the broken gears off to Odometer Gears in Newport News, VA. The owner, Jeff Caplan is also a creative problem solver and using my gear set as templates, has made up sets of replacement gears that are available for sale. Contact Jeff for details.
These gears are exact replicas of the originals, except in a better nylon/plastic material that won't degrade as quickly as the originals do. Mine have been in the car for about 2 weeks and have been flawless in performance.
