Unhappy ambient temperature sensor

My ambient temperature guage reads negative 36 degrees F. I just had some body work done on front bumper. What is the problem and is it easy to fix?

Make sure the temperature probe is in the bumper and wasn't forgotten to be installed. If it's there, check to make sure the cable is connected. If the bumper work was the only work performed, then it should be straight-forward.
Cheers,
Jeff

One of my sensors will read SC for "short circuit" when not connected, not sure it was is a MB! When the SL was reading "not even close" the probe was not in the slates of the lower part of the front bumper cover. I hope the Holiday season is not that cold for New Jersey!

Front bumper, left side, usually barely sticking out of the slotted section. I'd take a picture of mine, but the probe is black and so is my bumper; sort of hard to see. Look for a little stub, about half the diameter of a pencil. If you look carefully, it'll be noticeable as it'll be the only small, stubby item pointing forward. You may need to follow the cable back to the connector, which if memory serves, is not too long.

Cheers,
Jeff
