95 Sl500 Intermittent stumble & stalling (need help)
After initial warm up 3-5min. car will stumble upon acceleration and at steady speeds intermittently. It can happen at any speed. Hard acceleration will cause it almost every time. 2-3 stumbles and car recovers and runs like it should. It will also intermittently stall at at stop, never while moving. I have changed the fuel filter, checked plugs & wires and distributor caps. Any help or suggestion would be most appreciated.

How's the condition of the engine wiring harness? Also the wiring of the Throttle Actuator. My old '94 SL500 had sorta-kinda similar symptoms; was the wiring harness.

Attached are the 'before' pictures of the harness I replaced in a '94 SL500. The throttle actuator wiring was the same condition. This is indicative of the infamous mid-90's harness issues that plague virtually all MB's in that era. Also owned a '94 S320 with the same problem. When the engine wiring harness starts to fall apart, strange things can happen. Your MY is on the cusp of the problem. If you do change out the harness, it's not too difficult a job. The wiring of the throttle actuator can be dealt with easier, separating the few wires with electrical tape… as a temporary measure. Replacing the harness made a world of difference in the reliability of both my 94’s.
