SL/R129: sl600 PROBLEM!

sl600 PROBLEM!
I have a 2000 sl600, 70,000 mile car. The car started goinig into what appears to be a "limp mode". It will loose power intermittently, and then run fine. The fuel gauge blinks as well. Check engine light shows numerous codes, i.e.. cam timimg ect..... It has been in the shop for some time, and the dealer has been unable to definitively find the cause and is continuing to look. They say possible computor modules, wiring harness.... Any ideas?

I am far below you level. I hope MB has not digressed to the Eco-harness issue of the 90's. My experience with several cars with the modern diagnostics, they are easy to play thru the repair. ( expensive yes because nothing is repaired!, replace only )
Back in my day ( 1999) with my current 600. dealers suggested many things, but all issues stemmed from the harness insulator break down. (I kept moving to another mechanic ) Even I found that problem without a code reader! Good luck
