You Tube under Tamango,s channel has several MB R129 video's that deal with DIY interior tasks. The panel has plates and door arm rest with phillips head screws, bolts under door handle lever and several plastic push pins that snap into the border of the of the door frame. The parts you need to move all slide, DO NOT PRY The panel has lights, speakers vacuum lines and control switches that need to be disconnected. The connectors for wiring have latches, try not to force anything. the vacuum lines ( yellow tubes ) can get brittle, and they are important!!! A body shop will use plastic "putty Knife" type levers to pop the door panel. I lower the window before I start the removal so I can lift the loosened panel straight up to free the top ledge connection.
I rebuilt the map door hinges and replaced door lights with LED bulbs. I also cleaned and lubricated the door and window mechanical things, and resealed the water barrier
plastic sheet.
Good luck with your project. Don't use heavy forces, unless you can get the parts fast and for free!!!
