1996 500 sl antennae mast replacement
I've been reading online articles about replacing the antennae mast on my car. Its been said that the antennae with the cell phone option uses a different mast than the others. I don't use the car phone so is this a matter of the phone option antennae mast not fitting and working with the radio or just losing car phone function? I'm located in Canada and I'm wondering if there is a recommended Canadian source for these mast repair kits. Any advice appreciated, Joe.

my experience with the power antennae is that the motor and control system does have a cell phone cable connection. The mast appears the same flex cable. My 94 model has the Hard top with a car phone pig tail antennae.
Because my problem was the nylon gear within the case, I choose to replace that gear for about $19. The mast was not broken or bent. The car's phone system has been removed in part since the i phone works thought the blue tooth part of the Clarion sound system. Good luck with your repair

IIRC the cell phone masts have the black plastic top section. As I was unsure of fitment, when I replaced it on my '96 I went back with the same mast.
Sadly, the seller I bought from isn't the most "Canada Shipping" friendly.
