91 300SL Hesitation until 2500RPM
I just bought a 91 300SL and its had a bit of a rough idle since I got it about a week ago. I was playing around with the air/fuel mixture screw last night and the idle seems some what better. During my commute to work after about 5 minutes worth of driving im stopped at a light and go to accelerate and there is 0 power, im crawling along until about 2500 RPM then I have a power surge and get full power back again. The air fuel mixture screw im pretty sure I put it back in the same place as where I began last night, once I get to work everything is back to normal????

did you check the manifold to make sure there are no leaks or anything? are the seals good? and how many miles are on the car? generally around 100,000 miles the timing chain needs to be done.

Well I can hear it popping/back firing out the intake box, the boot going from the CIS system looks like its all wet and leaking so maybe it's that and when I took the box off last night maybe that disrupted it? It sounds similar to the timing being off or a vacuum leak? I'll rip it all apart tonight and see what the hell is going on.
