SL/R129: 91 300SL potentiometer where to buy?!
I repair throttle bodies for 92-95 MBs and they use very similar pots inside. Internal pots are not available but what I do is I bend those tiny spring loaded sliders to catch not worn area and it works. Customer is informed that this fix is a last resort as risk is high for sliders not to last long but so far nobody called for couple of years stating this repair failed. Basically, griphite wears off and contact is lost but griphite area is wider than sliders. If slider is moved a little to catch not worn area it will work again. You also want to make sure your pot is adjusted correctly in case you adjusted your air/fuel with fuel distributor tower. Also, there could be vacuum leak and your car hesitates on acceleration.
You can open your pot and try to VERY CAREFULLY bend those tiny sliders, it's very easy to bend them too much and deform them and you WILL need new assembly.
