SL500 2002 interior upgrade questions
Hello world,
In 6 more payments I’ll be the proud owner of a 2002 SL500. I love the car but am looking to improve the look of the interior. The SL600 has a leather dash and door panels and one guy quoted me $1000 for a leather dash in black. I’m really thinking of swapping out my gray vinyl dash and installing the leather one and air brushing some trim on the doors to match. I realize I have to have the battery disconnected and not apply power any time when the airbag (Or any unit that’s part of the SRS system) or I’ll throw an SRS error that can only be cleared or diagnosed the MB dealer. Both the SL500 and SL600 use the R129 body style. So I’m looking for some advice, comments, someone that’s tried this already or just anything to help me plan out this upgrade. As a side note if you have SL600 Leather trip parts you would like to sell, let me know color and price.
