Brakes and Rotors on a '01 R129

Hello all, I have been reading this forum for about a year since I purchased my '01 R129 (with 37k miles on it at the time) but it is finally time for me to seek the help of the gurus here. I am finally in need of my first maintenance on the car, brakes and rotors, and was curious of what is the best route or any success stories that could be shared. Even a site that has good parts, or videos would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased this car as my second vehicle (it was always a dream in school to own one) and find myself driving it more than my Audi. Thank you in advance for any advice, websites, or comments.

My setup is MB drilled Silver Arrow rotors + Akebono ceramic pads. Great stopping power, quiet, and no brake dust. Installed 3 yrs ago and I would do the same thing if I needed them tomorrow. Good Luck-

MY 99-02 R129 rotors, ceramic pads, and stainless steel brake lines.

Why not consider changing out just your front brakes and rotors for $250.00 in parts as well as a set of custom SS brake lines for all four corners and renew your brake fluid at the same time. Then when your ready change out your rear pads and rotors after you see what a benefit you receive from doing the front.

The following package will help you get rid of ALL that ugly black brake dust and increase your stopping power. Zimmerman rotors are the same as the MB 2002 Silver Arrow cross drilled rotors. So save yourself some money with....

Front Akebono Euro ceramics, p/n AKEUR847
Front Pad Wear Sensors p/n 1405401217
Note: need two each of the above sensors from your local MB dealer.
Front Zimmermann Cross-Drilled Rotors p/n W0133-180733 or MB p/n 1294212312

Paragon Custom Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Rear Akebono Euro ceramics, p/n AKEUR603
Note: comes w/ one sensor. That's all you need for the rear set.
Rear Zimmermann Plane Rotors p/n W0133-1615886 or MB p/n 1294230312
Rear Zimmermann Cross-Drilled Rotors p/n W0133-1808277 or MB p/n 1294230512

Awesome! Thanks so much for this information, I knew that you guys would have a better solution than OEM. I am excited to get this setup on my R129!
