DIY Radiator repair.
My 97 sl500 has developed a leak (the top driver’s side.) I feel she deserves
better than a quick JBL fix. My questions are #1 should I go after market
. OE or OEM? What is the name of a decent parts outlet, and are there any "special" tools or knowledge
I need to know before tackling this project?

no special connection from me, but I like your approach! As you know, size and surface is everything. I have found modern radiators are tight and far superior to reclaimed or repaired, for the long term owner. I have an aversion to MB prices, but I have always found the quality in their well priced parts!

no special connection from me, but I like your approach! As you know, size and surface is everything. I have found modern radiators are tight and far superior to reclaimed or repaired, for the long term owner. I have an aversion to MB prices, but I have always found the quality in their well priced parts!
I agree with you. Found a new one for 450 bucks.
