engine RPM
I have 1991 500SL..all of a sudden yesterday while engine was idleing inPark
the RPM went up to fast idle and now i have fast idle in park or nuetral. works fine while in gear? dont want to tear up my drive shaft. ANY help? THANKS GUYS.

if from a cold start, then I think of augmented fuel mode. From your guestion mark I assume you have put the car in gear, is that correct? If you did add load to the engine, what happened to the RPM?
