SL/R129: R129 convertible Cylinder Repair for 42.95
Got a leak in one or more of the hydraulic actuators that raise, lower, and lock your SL500 or 500SL roof? Here are the parts to repair it.
This comprehensive set of 20 o-rings is what you need to rebuild all 11 (or 12, depending on year) of your car roof's hydraulic cylinders. Because of changes made by Mercedes during the R129 chassis' run, We have included all the possible combinations of o-rings needed--regardless of year or model.
The o-rings in the kit are organized by cylinder, so you know which ones go to which cylinders. These o-rings are composed of Nitrile rubber, which is impervious to the Mercedes hydraulic fluid--unlike the OEM parts and competitors' parts. This repair will last a lifetime. The Nitrile simply doesn't break down like the faulty Mercedes polyurethane u-cup seals--which you are currently dealing with--and those of competitors. How many times do you want to fix the same problem? Just once? Buy this kit and worry no more.
Yes, this project IS easy enough for DIYers. Just ask any of my THOUSANDS of satisfied customers. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise with fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) marketing. In a recent customer-satisfaction survey, 100 percent of responding customers indicated that this project was simple to do and that years later the o-rings are still working perfectly.
This kit is designed for all vehicles built on the Mercedes R129 chassis: 1993 - 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL280 1990 - 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300SL 1990 - 1993 Mercedes-Benz 300SL-24 1994 - 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL320 1990 - 1993 Mercedes-Benz 500SL 1994 - 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL500 1993 - 1993 Mercedes-Benz 600SL 1994 - 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL600
A set of basic instructions and links to online resources is included. (The competition simply sends you a bag of mis-sized o-rings and expects you to make do.)

Got to mbseals.webatu.com they have a similar setup on their own rings. However their information looks more detailed. They also have pictures and installation available. It should work on your car I know the 92 and 93 or different from the 94 to 2000. Just double check to make sure. Also the two main rear cylinders have got to be sent off. They Have to be pressed out I did not know this until I pulled them. You can speek to Klaus Witte with TOP HYDRAULICS INC. he will dow them both for around 130.00. But your main two cylinders may not be leaking. Just be very careful not to scratch the Pistons when you pull it apart. Best of luck if there's anything else that I can do for you let me know.
Klaus Phone number is 541-902-3214. Don't be surprised if he tries to scare you into sending them all in. But he's a good guy.
