SL/R129: 300 SL Initial Hard start

1990 300sl
300 SL Initial Hard start
1990 300 SL hard to start after sitting for a few hours. cranks and cranks. want to start but cuts off. now I have to crank it several times before it sputter and lopes to afull start. then when I mash the accelarator it cuts off. I have to start it again and let it lope to a full start and start running smooth. once it settles out it runs as if nothing is wrong. I can drive it anywhere for as long as I do not cut it off. If I cut it off and wait an hour it is hard starting all over again.
have checked fuel pump, fuel check valve,fuel relay,new plugs.distributer and rotor. HELP,HELP PLEASE.

my 92 300sl has the same problem. It is in the shop. I will post the outcome---- Got it back from the shop. I needed a Fuel Accumulator. Runs and starts like a new car now.
