SL500 auto-Stick conversion???
Hey guys, I want to get a SL500 but i really want a stick car. is there anyway to do a auto - manual conversion?
I know the 1993 US 500SL did come in manual but they were very rare and far between. Does anyone know how it would be possible? anyways thanks guys.

makes reference to a 5 speed manual transmission in the 300SL between 1990 to 1993. Then discontinued.
Beyond that, I have no idea how all the electronic gizmos inherent in the SL500 relate to the transmission. Or if you can simply drop a manual tranny into an automatic transmission housing.
Someone else can perhaps fill you in on the mechanical parts.
