SL/R129: How old are the R129 drivers on this forum?
I've always loved MBs, and owned a 190D about 10 years ago. Talk about leaving a bad taste!! Have had Cadillacs since. I've loved the 600s for a long time but have never been able to afford one. So here I go!
Shoot, if someone wanted to give me a MB I'd say BRING IT! And make it SHINY!

This is a guy thing. It probably means he doesn't like you (NO, just kidding -- he probably feels insecure around all those cigars
). Just keep it and have fun! You will love the car so much. Read some of the posts about how in-love we all are with our R129's. Please post pictures and details after you pick it up (mileage, options, etc.). Welcome to the forum.
He's a major cigar smoker and has 3 55 gal coolerdors under his bed....not that I had anything to do with that. His loss is my gain, the way I see it. I'm sure I'll be in love with the car - best I've , or he, have ever had. I've been doing lots of reading, y'all are sick with it, and I expect I will be too.
Thanks for the welcome. And sorry for the thread hijack.

I am 41 and I can honestly say, the younger ladies DO appreciate it so it must be hip again.
I think this format for sharing info, useful and useless is a fine idea.
These are so affordable compare a late 90's SL. Low miles to a new car...no choice buy the SL!
I am 50 and hope to push the average back to where it should be,this is not a kids car!
Scorpian, with the average age in the mid to upper 30's I don't think there are too many "kids" here. I expected the average age to be much older but found it pretty cool that so many younger folks appreciate this fine automobile. I would venture a guess that the average age of SL owners is much older than this forum indicates because forum users are generally a younger crowd.
Whatever the average is, it's "where it should be." I say sit back and enjoy the ride young and old alike! We're all in this together.......
