New owner introduction
I've had my '91 560SEL for about 6 years and love it but this article helped me pull the trigger on one of my favorite Benzes.
PO replaced serpentine belt (incorrectly) with cheap aftermarket part so $2,000 for belt, idler, tensioner and some other maintenance stuff but LOVE the car.
Also need to have rear portion of top replaced - got quoted $1,250 yesterday; is that steep?

Congrats on your new car. $1250 for just replacing the rear part of the soft top seems very steep. I have been quoted in the neighborhood of $600 - $900 to replace the whole top. Thank you for the article.
