Can the plastic windows be replaced? The top is in good condition otherwise. Any recommendations on a cheap, temporary repair? Clear tape of some kind?

I have never used them because they won't provide the instructions online prior to buying the kit and I would like to know in advance whether or not I'm capable and willing to do it.

 

Thanks much for the link! I worried that a complete top replacement might be necessary. I'll probably give the kit a try. My '92 roadster only has 67K on the clock & I'm sure my (black) top is the original.

Keep in mind that our tops come in sections and the rear section containing the plastic window can be removed from the car. Any responsible auto top & upholstery guy can remove the section in a 1/2 hour, put it on a workbench and remove the plastic windows and machine sew in new ones. Around here (Sarasota), this job is billed $250-$300. The `kit` you`re looking at is a manual sewing awl, thread, and plastic panels + your time to manually sew in 200-300 lock stitches through the canvas and plastic and lots o` time.
